The Perfect Pitch

Getting yourself pitch perfect is key to hooking your target audience. During our research, over 90% of people make a decision in under 30 seconds, with 53% only needing 15 seconds or less.

There are 4 aspects to an upload on Pitchsocial and you can see an example of each below with some hints and tips to help you.

1 - The Video

Think of this as your elevator pitch. It's your first chance to impress the viewer and you only have 30 seconds.

We created an example to show you how to use your time wisely, ensuring you get the key points across in a clear way.

You don't have to tell them everything, just enough to hook them and entice them to dig into your pitch further.

Hints and tips:

  • It can be an idea to hold up a piece of paper with the name of the targeted user so it feels personalised to them, and not something you've sent to everyone.

  • If the intended viewer has invited you to pitch, they may have included some instructions on what they want to see in the video. Following their guidelines ensures they get the information they need.

2 - Bullet Points

100% of all buyers, investors and decision makers we spoke with said they would prefer 4/5 short sharp bullet points over paragraphs of information. So we've created some examples based on the video sample above.

  • The Tripod brought to you by Coffee Concepts is a revolutionary new coffee pod which gives you three cups of coffee per pod rather the traditional one for the same price

  • Tripod is already sold in 8 countries including leading retailers, Walmart, Tesco & Coles and many others

  • We have sold over 5 million Tripod capsules since launching in 2015

  • Tripod has won 25 awards in the past 2 years, including beating Nespresso and Kenco pods for taste

  • We have just secured £20m in funding to enable us to grow at 50% a year and become the best selling coffee pod around

3 - Deal Breaker Questions

Every buyer, investor or decision maker gets to create up to 4 deal breaker questions when setting up their account. This will be different for everyone and may cross over with some of the bullet points but we've listed the most common questions but check each users questions carefully before submitting your pitch.

  • What problem are you solving?

  • What exactly do you do?

  • Which companies you work with?

  • How it works?

  • How it delivers values for your business?

4 - Attachments and Images

This is the final section and it's not so you can upload everything you couldn't say in the previous sections. Use it carefully and only if it's going to help your cause. Some of the things you may want to add are:

  • Certificates (if requested)

  • Detailed presentation or financial forecasts for investors
