'Speed dating for business' app launches

New app matches pitchers with retail buyers and investors using 30 second video pitches

Serial retail technology entrepreneur, Chris Brown, has launched the world’s first ‘speed-dating for business’ mobile app, Pitchsocial.

The new Pitchsocial app has been built to help match investors with opportunities, as well as retail buyers with sellers in a quick and easy way.

“In this changing world and with the absence of trade shows and face-to-face meetings, it's almost impossible for sellers to make a dent without spending thousands on ads,” said Chris Brown, founder of Pitchsocial.

“And even before Covid, the pitching process was outdated, with buyers and investors having to waste countless hours sitting through long meetings or travel for days to attend tradeshows to discover new opportunities and products.’

“This is why I created Pitchsocial - a platform where pitchers get the same opportunity. Pitchers showcase their products, services or investment opportunities directly to retail buyers, big or small as well as investors.’

“I realised there was a gap in the market. People have embraced technology and media in so many aspects of their lives, with platforms like Tinder and Instagram being used more and more personally. So why not apply the same principles to the business world? Instead of lengthy presentations and boring text heavy pitches we embrace media and push that to the forefront.”

The Pitchsocial app allows users looking for new buyers or investment to upload a 30 second video pitch along with five supporting images and text about their offerings. Users looking to buy or invest can create profiles and tag the types of products and services they are looking for. They are then matched with pitches that meet their interests.

This is Chris’s third venture, having launched SFD Systems in 2011 which has provided digital shelf edge signage for some of the best known retail brands all over the world.

Chris also launched TakeNote Reviews in 2020, which is a customer and employee feedback platform designed to help retailers get visibility on what’s happening in their stores in real time.
